STEM Showcase 2018

April 21, 2018 at 3:16 PM by Winter Roberts

The Horns of Havoc have the pleasure and luxury of being located in Puyallup, the same city in which is hosted the Washington State Fair twice every year. The fairgrounds in Puyallup opened yesterday for the Spring Fair, and the Puyallup School District STEM Showcase today. Children from Kindergarten to Sixth grade, throughout the district, compete yearly to conduct the best experiment, build the best invention, or disseminate the most knowledge through reverse engineering. Power Up Build Season Update Week 6

February 17, 2018 at 3:59 PM by Brennan Roberts

I can now actually say that we did finish the robot rather than have it be mere speculation. The latter half of the day has been spent testing our bot so that it will be ready for competition and its programming improved upon. Our model of the robot in Autodesk, which has been constantly updated to match real life changes, has been duly noted to be complete as well. This week, in the department of build, we h...

Today is our personal deadline for the completion of our robot. We certainly are cutting it very, very close but as nearly as anyone may be able to tell the build team is only doing some final touches. Despite the fact that we all had to work unusually hard and quickly today to do it, it is fair to say that the team got it done. While the lesser things such as bumpers may not be entirely finished they have been made into official shape at the least. For marketing, the design of the pits is be...

Power Up Build Season Update Week 3

January 26, 2018 at 5:15 PM by Brennan Roberts

Prototype becomes final design, test shifts into practice, each individual works harder to turn our ideas into a reality as time ticks on. The realization that our personal deadline lurks a mere week away. All of this as the semester is coming to a close makes many hard-pressed. Studying for finals and attempting to bring up school grades while the uncertainty of the achievement we are aiming for with this organization looms just around the corner. Despite the struggle though, significant acc...
